What is self-employment?

Self-employment is a way to support oneself through his/ her own job. It’s like earning livelihood by one with own quality and hard work. Many people believe that it is noble thing to be a self-employed person. And there are many reasons to think so because by being self-employed-

·             -You are no longer a burden to your family neither to the country

·             -Your life as a self-employed person is not less prestigious than any other person in the world

·              -You are the one and only master of your own will; you can set-up and run your business as you wish

·              -Truly speaking, a successful person always works hard to be succeeded and a person with hard work deserves to be honored.

Forms of self-employment

There are different forms of self-employment such as- harvesting (fish, plant, poultry etc.), small business, dairy farm, computer technology, online earning, and so on. There are too many people can be found who succeeded and developed themselves through self-employment. Almost all of them had a little wealth but a huge hard working ability. For this reason the only word goes for being a self-employed person is to work harder and harder.

Essential elements to be self-employed

There are some essential elements to be a self-employed person. Huge amount of money or numbers of people do no matter at all here. There must be some qualities that a person is required to be self-employed, those are-

·     Self-confident: This quality is mandatory for almost all the works in the universe. A self-confident person has the ability to go on; no matter what comes to his/ her way.

·            Quality (training): Every work needs the specific knowledge regardless their categories. So, here we have no exception. If you have any skill in any specific valid work then bring it on and try to manipulate all the stuffs you need. Practice to become a successful Entrepreneur

To be an entrepreneur a person must have certain characteristics which express his/ her identity as an entrepreneur. The general characteristics of an entrepreneur are-risk taking capacity, creativity and innovation, need for achievement, industriousness, self-confidence and firm determination. 

There are some behavioral and psychological characteristics of an entrepreneur such as- i) need for achievement ii) risk taking propensity iii) need for power iv) internal external locus of control v) need for autonomy and vi) creativity. Now here are some characteristics on the basis of function of an entrepreneur. Those are- a) risk taking b) innovation and creation of new business ideas c) development and extension of existing venture and d) management & marketing. There are some other characteristics that can be found in an entrepreneur such as- leadership capability, foresightedness, opportunity seeking ability, high levels of ambition, proper decision making capability, dynamism and time conscious.
